Jackie E. Voirin  What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined for life, to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting?  My sweet and gentle Jackie found peace last night.  He took his last breath as I held him in my arms.  And now at last he is free from the ravages and pain of cancer and Alzheimer’s.  He has gone to his beautiful home to be with our Heavenly Father and his mom and dad and the ones he loved who journeyed before him.  Jackie was born in Dallas, Texas to Woody and Liz Voirin on February 28th, 1937, on his mother’s birthday.  He was a lifelong resident of Irving, Texas.  He graduated from Irving High School and upon graduation joined the United States Air Force which he proudly served for four years.  His first leave home after completing boot camp, he and his high school sweetheart Billye were married and spent more than 51 years loving and caring for each other.  After leaving the Air Force, he worked several years as a construction superintendent before establishing his own business.  He started JV Construction in the early eighty’s where he worked until he had a stroke in 2002.  Jackie was a gentle and compassionate man who loved life and his family and friends with a passion.  He could light up a room with his laughter which came easily.  He gave of himself to so many and could never say no to any request asked of him.  He always believed that his greatest success and achievement in life was his family and home.  His gentleness, compassion, laughter and love will be missed more that words can tell, but the memory he leaves us is a gift beyond compare.  He was preceded in death by his parents Woody and Liz Voirin, his sister and brother-in-law Betty and Robert Brazwell and many other dear friends and relatives.  He leaves behind to celebrate his life…high school sweetheart, soul mate, and beloved wife of 51 years, Billye, four children who were guided by his love and wisdom… daughter Terri Holiday, sons Rick Voirin and wife Carol, Mike Voirin and wife Lori, Chris Voirin, granddaughters Peyton and Landry Voirin, sister BelVeree and husband Bobby Dickson, brother Ken and wife Dot Voirin, nephews Curt and Craig Voirin, Rodney and Jeff Dickson, O.D. Walters, Rusty Coe and Ryan Wigley, nieces Aletha Feazell, Kelly Lewis, Vicky Hoehn, and Ginger Coe, special friend Stevie Stockstill, who traveled with us all the way on this last journey through life, and many other friends and family who will miss his laughter, love, and compassion.  Our family wishes a heartfelt thank you to Sharon, Carlos, and Kelly of Silverado Hospice for all the care and love shown us on this painful journey.  They were loving, compassionate, and kind, and became friends who shared our tears and pain.  Family and friends visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home.  The celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 13, 2009 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
