Freddie “Shu” Shumate of Irving passed away July 31, 2014. He was born on December 20 1946 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Vernon and Thelma Shumate. Freddie came to Irving in 1982 from Ohio. He enjoyed antiques, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Irving Elks Lodge #2334. He is preceded in death by his parents and Sister Pam Shumate Ashley. He is survived by wife Sharon Shumate of Irving; daughters Tiffiny Shumate of Euless; Terry Shumate of Johnston, Iowa; Jennifer Shumate of Irving; Brothers Harry Shumate; Ritchie Shumate; David Shumate; J. C. Shumate and Emmitt “Tiny” Shumate; sisters Barbara Jackson and Sally Shumate; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday August 6, 2014 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home.
