She was born to Fred Ensminger and Mary Longhofer on November 22, 1920 in McGee, Arkansas and has been an Irving resident since 1953. Freda served selflessly in the USO during World War II and went on to work for Selig Co. in Dallas and become a real estate broker, eventually retiring from Associates First Capital Corporation. She was an active member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving for most of her life and after her retirement helped those needing assistance and visiting others often as she could. Freda loved fishing and frequented Possum Kingdom Lake with her husband. She also enjoyed deer hunting and was a very good bowler. Freda will be dearly missed by her daughter Linda Wolfe; grandson Andrew N. Wolfe and wife Phaedra; grandson Mark P. Wolfe and wife Jennifer; great grandchildren Christopher Edward Wolfe, Lisette McCown, Jerrod Dane Wolfe, Anthony Dean Wolfe, and Hailey Renee Wolfe along with many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Restland Memorial Park at 10 AM.
