Obituary for Madylyn Kay Russell (Jennings)

Madylyn Kay Kohut Russell of Frisco died peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Kay was born on October 14, 1941 to Joseph Terrell Jennings and Emma Lee Condon in Corpus Christi, Texas. Kay spent much of her formative years in Elgin and San Marcos, Texas. Kay was a charismatic woman who was loved by so many. In her early adult years she volunteered in her children’s school activities and organizations while working at the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce which led to her participation and promotion of Chilympiad Chili cook offs. Kay was an entrepreneur at heart, having worked as a real estate agent, owner of a mortgage finance business and most recently developing and marketing a spice line with her husband appropriately called Mana’s Spices, her grandchildren’s name for their beloved grandmother. Kay is survived by her loving husband of 30 years , Michael Russell , her children Debbie (Eric)Fruithandler, DeLaine (Charlie) Johnson, Melissa (Bryan) Hardi, Jacque (Jeff) Hansen, Tracy (Terry) Gemas, and Joseph (Josey) Russell plus 19 Grandchildren, Michael & Blake Boswell, Madylyn and Bryan Keith (Christin) Hardi, Marc Fruithandler, Grant, Ryan & Jason Hansen, Trent & Trevor Russell, Kayla Garcia, Jacob Gemas and Sam (Hillary) Johnson , Neal Johnson, Kristy Johnson, Kate (Craig) Thomson, Natalie & Brian Johnson and four adorable great grandchildren, Brook & Paige Thomson Raven & Lincoln Hardi. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Grayson Gemas. Her Memorial Service will be held at The Church of the Apostles located at 322 S. Mac Arthur Blvd. Coppell, TX 75019 on Saturday, September 6 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice in Kay Russell’s name has been requested by the family.
