Zara Urban, of Bedford, Texas, died in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 6, 2014, just four months shy of her 100th birthday. She was born on January 25, 1915 in Eddy, Texas to her parents Robert Lee Shieldes and Emma Ida Elizabeth (Rickett) Shieldes. Her family was her life and she leaves behind those who will miss her dearly including daughters Jaki Riddles and her husband Ray, Pamela Looper, Wynne Moskop and her husband Randall, son Merle Walker III, daughter Betsy Alexander and her husband Jim, and son Mike Alexander and his wife Susan; her grandchildren Rayna Rabbitt, Lance Riddles, Katherine Moskop, Walker Moskop, Todd Looper, Jason Looper, Lauren Lawhon, Elizabeth Wade, Andy Urban and Laura Urban; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. Zara was preceded in death by her husbands Jack Frazier, Merle Walker II and Carlyle Urban; son Ross Walker; grandson Brad Wood; and her two brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to celebrating her life from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014. Funeral services will start at 2:30 p.m. at Brown’s Memorial Chapel, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, Texas. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
