Samuel Lynn Cameron, Jr., age 61 and longtime Irving resident, died on September 13, 2014. He was born to Samuel Lynn Cameron and Glenna Kay Winningham Cameron on January 11, 1953 in Lawton, Oklahoma and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy. Samuel was a loving father and grandfather who had a big heart and equally big sense of humor. He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to golf and fish. Samuel made his living as a Union Pipefitter and belonged to the UA Local 100 Steamfitters and Plumbers Union for over 20 years. His is preceded in death by his father, his son Samuel Lynn Cameron III and his niece D’lyn Cameron Elder. Samuel will be dearly missed by his son Travis James Cameron and wife Lauren Elizabeth of Rock Hill, South Carolina; daughter Samantha Kay Cameron of Canton, Georgia; grandchildren Kaylynn, Rylan and Tinsley Cameron; his mother Glenna Kathryn Cameron; sisters Kathy Coats and husband Paul of Irving and Jeanetta Edwards and husband Mike of Granbury; brother Kenneth Cameron also of Granbury; nieces Carrie Miles, Kristi and Brittany Coats along with nephew Ryan Coats and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held on at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Irving.
