William Lynn Switzer, 66, of Coppell, died September 24, 2014 due to complications from a bone marrow transplant. Lynn was born July 24, 1948 to William Arnold Switzer, Jr. and Mervin Crawford Switzer. He grew up in Isola, Mississippi. He earned his under graduate and graduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Delta State University, Cleveland, MS. During his life long career in the medical device industry he worked for Baxter Laboratories, Quest Medical, Medtronic and Advanced Medical Optics. At the time of his retirement in February 2005, he was Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at AMO. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Apostles in Coppell. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years Ruth Lundy Switzer, sons Bill Switzer and wife Marian and Scott Switzer and wife Lisa, all of Coppell; sister Jackie McBride and husband Jerry of Starkville, MS; brother Dennis Ray Switzer and wife Carolyn of Natchez, MS along with five grandchildren Lundy, Will, Jonathan, Cole and Hannah also of Coppell. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Church of the Apostles with The Reverend Timothy B. Cherry and The Reverend Joseph A. Warner officiating. An inurnment will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Belzoni Cemetery in Belzoni, MS. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Switzer Family Home.
