Alene “Mimi” Hampton went to be with our Lord on October 4, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Ruby DeBrucque; her brothers, Phil and Dr. William R. DeBrucque; her husband of 52 years, John W. Hampton; her grandson, Chris Hampton; her son Dr. Don Hampton; son-in-law Bill Rogers and her daughter-in-law, Dr. Laura Lynn Hampton. Alene was born March 18, 1921 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She is survived by: son, John Phillip Hampton, of Irving and daughter Cheryl Rogers of Frisco; sister Winifred Rountree of Tulsa; sister Marilyn Vale of Killeen; her beloved grandchildren, LeighAnn Genard of Carrollton; Teddy Murray of Spring, Texas; Cheryl Kay Stovall of Frisco; John and David Hampton of Shreveport, Louisiana; Julie Bland of San Antonio; and Christian Baker of Spring, Texas and 14 fabulous great-grandchildren. Mimi retired from the City of Tulsa after 37 years of service. She was a lifelong Tulsa resident and volunteered in numerous civic organizations over the years and remained active in the Elk’s Lodge and University Methodist church. Alene was enthralled by computers when they took up a large room; was a ferocious reader; avid sports fan of TU, OSU and OU football and will be dearly missed. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30 PM Thursday.
