Joel Lee Coates, age 57, died Tuesday November 11, 2014 in Irving, TX. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. Joel was born February 15, 1957 in Bowie, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents (father) Wilmer (Bud) Coates and (mother) Doris Faye Cornelison; his brother Ricky and sisters Jackie and Linda. Joel will be greatly missed by his sisters Cindy Kessel of Irving and Sue Blasingame of Grand Prairie; his brother Charles Blasingame of Sherman, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; his great niece Rylee and great nephew Easton along with his beloved niece and nephew Jennifer and Jason Coates both of Irving, who he loved and raised as his own children. Joel worked for Hagan’s Plastics off and on for over thirty years until his health declined and he could no longer work. He was always a giver, and the strongest man we ever knew.
