Vera M. Cross, 77, of Irving, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at an Irving hospital surrounded by family. She was born on December 14, 1936 to parents Aaron Teel and Bessie Harrelson Teel in Andalusia, Alabama. Vera was a retired supervisor with Sunny South Fashions in Dallas and was a vibrant member of Heart of Worship Baptist Church in Irving. She will be dearly missed by her husband Cecil; sons Jerry Cross and his wife Gayla, of Gun Barrel City, Texas and Billy Cross, of Irving; and by her siblings Mary Ethel Brook, Marie Armstrong, Aaron Teel, Jr. and Francis Patterson, all living in Alabama; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. The family will have a time to greet friends and share stories at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place later in the week at Carolina Cemetery near Andalusia, Alabama under the direction of Foreman Brown-Funeral Service, Inc. in Andalusia.
