Pat Blankenship, 71 of Gallatin, TN, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Gallatin, TN. She was born May 16, 1943 in Clarksville, TX to Wayne and Ora Herrington. Pat married Jack Blankenship on November 10, 1961 in Irving, TX. She is survived by her husband, Jack of Gallatin, TN; sons and daughters-in-law Vince and Susan Blankenship of Hallsville, TX, and Eric and Rhonda Blankenship of Gallatin, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Casi and Shannon Odom of Krum, TX; six grandchildren, Mindy Plunkett and husband Joey of Gallatin, TN; Kari Blankenship and Cody Blankenship of Hallsville, TX; Dallas Blankenship of Gallatin, TN; and Jake Odom and Chase Odom of Krum, TX; one great-granddaughter, Lizzy Plunkett of Gallatin, TN. She is also survived by nine sisters, two brothers, numerous nieces and nephews, and by her chosen family, John and Beth Hubbert of Sherman, TX, and their children Cassie Hubbert, Sally Hubbert, Molly Doyle and husband Alex, and Sam Hubbert, all of Dallas, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents. Pat’s greatest joy in life was being married to her best friend and raising a family with him. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 28, 2014 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Oak View Baptist Church 1004 South Story Road, Irving, TX 75060-5177. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Cody Blankenship, Jake Odom, Dallas Blankenship and Chase Odom; and special family friends Sam Hubbert and Randy Patton.
