Nancy Shoop Donley of Gun Barrel City passed away January 5, 2015. She was born on September 1, 1935 in Maywood, California to Harold and Margaret Shoop. Nancy moved to Irving in the 7th grade and graduated from Irving High School in1953 where she became the majorette and played on the basketball team. She later graduated from North Texas State University in 1984 with a degree in teaching. She worked as a teacher for 12 years in the Southlake Carroll and Kemp School Districts retiring in 1996. She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Charles R. Donley of Gun Barrel City; son James R. Donley and wife Deborah of Corinth and grandchildren Megan and Matthew Donley. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Brown’s Memorial Chapel.
