Obituary for Hazel Marie Werley (Roach)

Hazel Marie Werley (Roach)
Hazel Marie Werley, 90, passed peacefully into the arms of her Saviour on January 24, 2015, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on December 13, 1924, Hazel was proud to turn 90 years old on 12/13/14. She was born to George and Estelle Roach in Hazen, Arkansas, and grew up on a farm, often missing school to pick cotton. She married her one true love and they celebrated 56 years of marriage together. During World War II, she was a “Rosie the Riveter” in a bomber plant, then worked in the lunch room at school. After that, she spent 27 years in the men's department at Sanger Harris (then Foley's) and was a long time member of Kirkwood Methodist Church in Irving. She loved to read, play dominoes and exercise, but most of all she loved to spend time with her precious family. Our sweet Mom was preceded in death by her beloved husband Samuel Leon Werley, daughter Ellen Marie Oliver, grandson Donald Alley and all her siblings. Surviving are children S. Gary Werley (Cora) and Karen Carleton (Kenny); Grandchildren Kerensa Muench (Ian, children Michaela and Amelie); Jana Alley Bartley (Jon, children Jessica and Jeralyn, granddaughter Airalyn); Ron Alley (Jenny, children Amber, Catherine, Jordan, and Patrick, grandchildren Collin, Isabella and Liam; Scott Alley (Belinda, son Brandon); Andrew Werley (Angie, children Austin, Audrey, Ainsley and Alyssa); and Alisha Waring (Graham, children Peyton, Sophia and Graham); and other family and long-time friends.
