Fanny Barnes  Shipp (Moss)
Fanny Barnes Shipp, age 96 and longtime Irving resident, died on February 9, 2015. She was born in Krum, Texas to John William Moss and Sally Warner Moss on June 17, 1918. Fanny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who devoted her time to caring for and nurturing her family. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed playing pool and loved gardening. Fanny was an active member of Oak View Baptist Church for many years and was extremely proud to be a Sunday School Teacher. Preceding her in death are her husbands, William L. Barnes, Arthur Cooper and A.B. Shipp; her daughters Betty J. Brinkley and Helen L. Bryant; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Fanny will be forever missed by her daughters Barbara Collis; Mary Cross and her husband Corky; son William Barnes and his wife Margaret along with eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Oak View Baptist Church in Irving with interment immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
