Donald E Johnson, also known as Don, Gene and Granddaddy, age 89, died at Baylor Irving, on Sunday, February 15, 2015.Born September 17, 1925, in Cross Plains, Texas. He worked as a safety supervisor, in the oil fields. After retirement, Donald became an avid walker/watcher at the Irving mall, and made numerous friends during this enjoyable time. Survivors include his loving wife, Carmaleta Johnson, son and his wife Layne and Donna Johnson of Plano, Daughter Vickie Johnson of Ponder, beloved daughter-in-law, Elia Johnson, seven grandchildren, Matt, Michael, Dan, Donald, Tyler, Jennifer, and Molly, five great grandchildren, Marissa, Cade, Tommy, Joshua, Ainsley. Donald was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Johnson.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
