Nancy Ann Farina (Campanella)
Nancy Ann Campanella Farina completed her earthly journey on Sunday, March 15, 2015 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 18 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Ben F. Brown Funeral Home in Irving, with the rosary at 7:00. Celebration services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 19, at Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel in Dallas with Father Richard Bezzegato officiating and John Schell giving the eulogy. Graveside services will follow the Eucharistic Mass. Nancy was born on April 3, 1920 in Dallas, Texas to Mary Anello Campanella and Vito Campanella. She grew up in Dallas, and was married for 71 years to the love of her life, Pete M. Farina. They lived in Irving where they raised their family and operated many successful businesses. Nancy was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was known for her sweet, compassionate nature, and one of her greatest joys was dancing. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a joyful smile, and a contagious laugh. Nancy and Pete moved to Irving in the mid-1940s where they owned and operated a grocery store for many years. Following that, they owned restaurants in Irving and Dallas starting in 1951. The Farina family is best known for their popular restaurants featuring delicious homemade family recipes. They worked side-by-side for many decades in the restaurant business. Although they were involved in other business ventures, such as commercial real estate, the restaurants remained their passion. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Pete M. Farina, her parents, sisters Lena Schell and Rose Cash, and brother Vito Campanella, Jr. Surviving to cherish Nancy's memory are son, Danny Farina and wife Maria of El Paso, TX; daughter, Cindy Crook and husband Jim of Irving, TX; son, Gary Farina and wife Robbie of Grapevine, TX. She leaves a wonderful legacy to her grandchildren, Dawn Landon, Carlo Crook, Angela Brown, Danny Farina, Jr., Isabella Farina, Peter Pinon, Joshua Pinon, Matthew Douglas and Michele Douglas, and great grandchildren Caleb Crook, Timothy Crook and Brandon Brown, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Pallbearers are Michael Cash, Steve Cash, Carlo Crook, Matthew Douglas, Tim Farina, Victor Schell and Charles Schell. The family would like to extend gratitude to her dedicated caregiver Dee Clark. If desired, memorials may be given to Dallas Heritage Village (Nancy Kay Farina Lecture Series) at www.dallasheritagevillage.org.
