Barbara Sullivan of Irving passed away April 19, 2015. She was born on October 11, 1940 in Wolfe City, Texas to John Wesley and Hazel Catherine Hewitt. Barbara was an Irving resident for over 50 years and was a member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church. She worked for Paula Douglass State Farm Agency for 17 years retiring in 2004. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James and brother Jackie. She is survived by sons Jim Sullivan, II and partner Paul Davis of Irving; Glenn Monroe Sullivan and wife Kristie of Bixby, Oklahoma; Dain Hewitt Sullivan and wife Crystal of Denton; Drue Hewitt Sullivan of Irving, daughter Candace L. Sullivan and partner Tony of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, Payton, Jay, Shay, Penelope, Brody and Leo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 2232 W. 5th Street, Irving, Texas with Pastor Preston Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM Friday at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
