William Preston Powell, age 84 and longtime Irving resident, died on May 20, 2015. He was born in a small town near Greenville, Texas to Orion Powell and Ovie Jackson Powell on November 16, 1930. William worked doing route sales for Manor Bread, Mrs. Baird’s and then 28 years with Frito-Lay until he retired in 1993. He was also a member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Garland Masonic Lodge #441 A.F. & A.M. William is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Tayme Bell Brown in 2010. He will be forever missed by his beloved wife Sandra; his sons Scott Powell of Lewisville; Tim Bell and wife Linda of Corinth; grandchildren Matthew, Joshua, Krystal, Shelby, Justine, Angela, Dayna, Leann and Wyatt along with great-grandchildren Grayson, MacKenzie, Savanna, Zoe, Mia and Mikaela. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving.
