Obituary for Robert James Cahill

Robert James Cahill
Robert “Coach” Cahill, age 74, of Dallas, Texas, died Monday, June 22, 2015. Born January 21, 1941, he is survived by his daughter, Julianne and two grand-daughters, Kristen and Kelsey. A Jesuit honoree-alumni, he began his long career in education in Bremond, Texas coaching and mentoring youth. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was known for his positive attitude and steadfast friendships. He was actively involved in the Knights of Columbus. A beloved coach, friend, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed being outside and enjoyed the company of friends (which he made everywhere he went). He was also a die-hard Texas Rangers fan. In his spare time, he played tennis, spent weekends with family and friends grilling and enjoying the outdoors. He was a leader by example and never met a stranger. His favorite phrase was “Go Get ‘Em!” and he lived by that motto every day. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Cistercian Preparatory School at 2:00 pm with Father Paul McCormick officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, Texas. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Brown’s Funeral Home in Irving, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to http://www.gofundme.com.
