Mary Ellen Gunter Smith, age 79, was called home to heaven Friday, September 11, 2015. She was born October 3, 1935 in Jacksboro, TX to Sam Gunter and Sally Sanderson Gunter. A loving mother, grandmother and wife, has now reunited with her husband James N. Smith Jr., on their 61st wedding anniversary date, her mother’s 110th birthday and her grandsons’ birthday. Mary is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers Bob and Dan Gunter; sisters Callie Roden, Jewel Boatman, Twila Fisher and Nona May; son in law Roger Moulton. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Vicky Smith Moulton; grandson Tanner James Moulton; brother Lloyd Gunter and many nieces and nephews. Her family rejoices knowing she is with her savior and family that passed before her, but will never forget the wonderful memories she gave them. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Plymouth Park Baptist Church, 1714 N. Story Road, Irving, Texas 75061 with Reverend Bob Harper officiating. Interment directly following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, September 14, 2015.
