Obituary for Jay C. Newton

Jay C.  Newton
Jay C. Newton, age 72, died surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, September 15, 2015. He was born September 5, 1943 to Luther Lee Newton and Lillian Pauline McDonald Newton, in Stamford, Texas. Jay was a loving husband, father and grandfather, always a hard worker and loyal friend, no matter what he may have been going through, he always found a way to make people laugh and smile. He was previously from Lubbock, Texas and worked for Carroll Brother Erection for over 20 years, then worked as an independent tow truck driver for 15 years. Jay had many hobbies such as reading Louis Lamour westerns, gardening, where he was especially proud of his tomatoes, wood working, and his absolute joy, building and racing hot rods, especially his 56 Chevy Bel Air, he kept parked in the garage and would show off to friends visiting the house. Left to cherish his memory and miss his smile and jokes, is his loving wife of 46 years, Sarah Newton of Irving; son Douglas Newton and girlfriend Tanya Montgomery of North Richland Hills; daughter Tania Aday and husband Chad Fischer of Irving; Daughter Brittany Newton and fiancé Dustin Neal of Irving; grandson Collen Fischer; granddaughters Alex Summy and Nelly; brother Dale Newton and wife Shirley; sister Barbara Turner; sister Nancy Montgomery and husband Bobby; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday September 22, 2015, at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home followed by a committal service with military honors at Dallas Fort Worth Cemetery at 2:30 PM in Dallas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM, Monday September 21, 2015.
