Janie DeLeon Martinez, a 34 year Grand Prairie resident formerly of Lubbock, died in Arlington, Texas on November 7, 2015 at the age of 56. She was born in Lubbock, Texas on March, 27, 1959 to John and Martha (Carrizales) DeLeon and devoted her life to loving, caring and nurturing her family. Janie will forever be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother and dear sister. Being with family is what she enjoyed the most. Janie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Franky Martinez and her mother. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Jennifer Rodriguez of Arlington; son Jonathan Martinez of Grand Prairie; daughters Stephanie Martinez of Bedford and Amanda Martinez of Grand Prairie; son Nicholas Martinez also of Grand Prairie; her father John DeLeon of Lubbock; sisters Mary Castellano, Rosa DeLeon, both of Lubbock and Celia Rincon of Balch Springs; brothers Mickey and Albert DeLeon of Lubbock along with eight precious grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, just prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
