Obituary for Robert Claire Smith

Robert Claire  Smith
Robert Claire Smith, longtime Irving resident, died at age 95 in Irving. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa to Orville Clayton Smith and Flossie Glenora (Hoopengardner) Smith on March 27, 1920. Robert proudly served his country in United States Army during World War II and a member of the Irving Kiwanis Club and the Masonic Lodge in Iowa. He owned and operated Airmasters Heating and Air until his retirement. Robert will be long remembered as a devoted family man who possessed strong faith. He was also a hunter, sportsman and sports enthusiast. Robert loved the Dallas Cowboys, particularly during the Landry years. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and his beloved wife, Luella. Left to cherish his memory are daughter Patty Pannell of Irving; son Gary Smith also of Irving; grandchildren Kenneth Bolton, Kara Heflin and many blended family members and longtime friends both in Texas and Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will take place at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
