Hugh “Old Man” Day, longtime Irving resident, died in Irving on January 20, 2016. He was born in Gainesville, Texas on November 18, 1937. Hugh worked as a plumbing assistant in the plumbing industry and everyone knew him as “Old Man”. He will be remembered as an independent free spirit. Hugh is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Delores, in May of 2007 and brother Hubert Melton Day. He leaves behind his sons Danny Wells and wife Joyce of Irving and David Wells of Garland; grandsons Daniel Spencer and wife Christina of Bedford and Bryan Wells and wife Selina of Grand Prairie; great grandchildren Mark Ramirez, Adam Spencer, Isabelle Spencer, and Kane Wells along with many friends. Private family arrangements made especially for Hugh’s Family by Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving.
