Obituary for Rosalie Quirk (Long)
Rosalie (Long) Quirk, Garland resident, age 73, died in Dallas on January 30, 2016. Her life’s journey began in Littlefield, Texas on June 13, 1942. Rosalie was born to James and Pauline (Mitchell) Long and would become known as being one of the youngest woman volunteer veterans to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. As a self-taught computer programmer, Rosalie was a pioneer in the new technology era; she was one of the first women in the industry. Above all, and most importantly, no matter what job Rosalie held, she proclaimed and made known that Jesus Christ was her boss. Rosalie is preceded in death by her parents and left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kimberly Carmack and husband Edward Holland of Tierra Verde, Florida and son Bill Quirk of Addison. A graveside Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
