Obituary for David W. Davis

David W.  Davis
David W. Davis, longtime Irving resident and native Texan, died in Irving at age 82 on April 22, 2016. He was born in Dallas on November 24, 1933 and was the son of William and Minnie (Hunsucker) Davis, SR. David made his living working as a District Manager for the US Postal Service until his retirement. He was very active with the Irving Cares organization and will be remembered as big hearted generous man who was committed to coming to the aid of others in any way he could. David was known for taking people to their doctor appointments or bringing them food and just simply meeting their needs in any way possible. He served on the Board of Directors of Neighborhood Credit Union for 67 years. He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, his brothers Glen, Jerry and Bobby Davis and his grandson, Scotty Marney. David will be forever missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle by his wife of 45 years, Louise (Brazell) Davis; brother Richard Davis and his wife Sue; daughter Davie Ann of Louisiana; sons Rod Allen Davis, Tod Davis, Rick Marney, Scott Marney and Todd Marney along with numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. The family requests memorial donations to the place near and dear to David’s heart, Irving Cares at www.irvingcares.org or 440 South Nursery Road, Suite 101, Irving, Texas 75060. An inurnment service, will be held 11:00 am, Monday, May 2, 2016 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
