Helen Crockford Winn, longtime Irving resident, died in Irving on May 12, 2016 at age 88. She started her life journey in Chapel Hill, North Carolina when she was born to Horace D. and Helen (DeLamar) Crockford on November 3, 1927. Helen proudly served her country in the United States Navy and devoted most of her time to the care and nurturing of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Edith Welch and her beloved husband for over 50 years, Marlin M. “Skip” Winn. Helen will always be remembered as a loving, wife, mother and grandmother and forever missed by her daughter Kathleen Winn of Roanoke; sons Michael Winn and his wife Alison and Mark Winn and wife Katie, all of Irving; grandchildren Amanda, Matthew, Sara, Parker, Khia and Nina along with great-grandchildren Laurana, Mason, Frederick, Rylan, Waylon and Leo. A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
