Obituary for E. E. Burton

E. E.  Burton
E.E. Burton, native Texan of Wills Point, died on June 5, 2016 in Wills Point at the age of 95. His life story began in Aquilla, Texas where he was born to Marion and Roxie (Gregory) Burton on January 20, 1921. E.E. served his country during World War II in the United States Army and worked for LTV (Ling-Temco-Vought) as a foreman for 33 years until his retirement. He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, his beloved wife of over 60 years, Oleta Lee (Martin) Burton, son James William Burton, brothers Aubrey and Billy Jean Burton and his sister, Velma Burton Bullock. E.E. will be long remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and greatly missed by his son, Charles Burton of Irving; daughter Sheri J. Cannon and husband Robert of Los Lunas, New Mexico; grandchildren Jeff and Scott Cannon, Becky Campbell, Andrew and Richard Burton and Julie Daniel; daughter-in-law Cathy Burton; brother M.L. Burton and wife Margie and sister Betty Burton Campbell, all of Waxahachie, along with 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with interment immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, just one prior to the service.
