John J. Pierce, age 47 and lifelong Irving resident, died surrounded by his loving family Friday, July 15, 2016. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Robert Timothy and Carolyn (Sample) Pierce on February 14, 1969. John graduated from Nimitz high school in 1987, then in 1989 joined the United States Navy, serving his country during Desert Storm. After his service in the military John was very involved with Boy Scouts, volunteering his time at Elliot Elementary School and Lamar Middle School. He is preceded in death by both parents; left to cherish his memory is partner of 12 years Donna Nicholson; daughter Victoria Cosper of Justin; daughter Brittany Pierce of Garland; daughter Jacalynn Foster of Irving; son Nicholas Barker of Irving; brother Robert Timothy Pierce and wife Deborah Pepper of Plano; sister Cynthia Diane Edwards and husband Jon of Ft. Worth; grandchildren Timothy Pierce, Bryce Beadle, Raegan Pierce, Zachary Beadle and Caroline Temple along with many other friends created throughout his work in the Boy Scouts.
