Karen Stanford, died at the young age of 40, on July 14, 2016. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to William C. and Era M. (Armstong) Stanford on January 6, 1976. Growing up Karen was always viewed as a tomboy, she loved fishing, horses and horseback riding, and at the young age of 8 she found a love for softball. Her natural born athletic ability quickly came to light, and became the fast pitcher and 3rd baseman for the Wildcats; helping to take their team to their first League Championship win in the 80’s. She was a sweet yet mischievous child, who would sometimes put her tomboy ways aside for a moment, to enjoy and excel in Ballet and gymnastics. Karen was an amazing daughter, mother and friend to so many. She is preceded in death by grandfather Moris Taylor; left to cherish her memory and carry on her mischievous gene is daughter Faith Holden of Bedford and son Rodger Rhynes of Irving. Also left to cherish her memory are parents William and Era Stanford of Irving; brother Mathew Stanford of Irving; sister Jennifer Penn and her husband Jody along with many friends. A memorial service to celebrate and remember Karen’s life is set for 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home.
