Catherine Mary Connolly Carroll, age 87, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 27 2016 at Grace Presbyterian Village in Dallas surrounded by her children. "Catie" as she was known to all was born to Irish immigrants, John and Mary Connolly, on June 5, 1929 and was reared in Queens, New York. Catie was a lady steeped in a triumphant joy that came from her Catholic faith and her family. After graduating from St Bartholomew's HS in Elmhurst Queens, Catie attended Fordham University before joining Eastern Airlines, enjoying three memorable years as a stewardess. It was while there that she met her mate for life, Charles Carroll and together they had five children; Patrick, Mary, Kathleen, Joan and Erin. The wife of a salesman, Catie enjoyed the adventure of relocating to many cities before settling down in Irving, TX. As motherhood responsibilities drew to a close, Catie found herself flourishing as a staff member at the University of Dallas culminating her career and retiring there as the Haggar Center Director. Catie is survived by four children, fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Celebration Service for Catie will be held on Saturday August 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Haggar Art History Auditorium located in the Art History Bldg (Buildng 20 on UD website campus map) on the University of Dallas campus with a reception for family and friends to be held on the Art History building concourse following the service.
