Obituary for Angela Francis "Angi" Jenkins

Angela Francis "Angi" Jenkins
Angela “Angi” Francis Jenkins, died at the young age of 46, Wednesday, July 27, 2016. She was born in Irving, Texas on June 15, 1970 to Donald Bennett Francis and Kay Karrh Francis. Angi was born with Cystic Fibrosis, and during her 46 years of life, she survived a double lung transplant and a kidney transplant; thanks to Sarah Tucker, her A&M roommate. She was a fighter and faced many complications with both transplants. However her battle with colon cancer is what ended her journey here on earth. Angi never let her physical struggles hold her back. She graduated in 1988 from MacArthur High School in Irving, was a member of Cardettes for 3 years, being President her senior year, a member of the student council National Honor Society, and was named Miss Irving in 1987 in the Teen Miss Texas Pageant. She was named in the Top 10 Outstanding Seniors of her class and Best Dressed. Angi continued her education at Texas A&M receiving her bachelor’s degree in accounting. While at A&M, she became an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She was a Kappa Alpha Southern Bell and a Kappa Alpha Little Sis. She is preceded in death by her father and brother Donald Bennett Francis, Jr. Left to cherish and admire her memory and strength are mother Kay Karrh Bock and husband Richard; stepmother Patty Francis; sister Dr. Kristin Lower and her husband Hal; nieces who Angi loved and treated as her own children Sophie, Olivia, and Hallie Lower; former spouse Dr. Jerry H. Jenkins, M.D.; and her rock and heaven sent guardian angel on this earth John Blackall. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Irving Bible Church, 2435 Kinwest Pkwy, Irving, TX 75063, with Dr. George W. “Hank” Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, August 1, 2016 between the 6:00 and 8:00 PM at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home.
