Albert “Frankie” Martinez, age 76, died Sunday, September 25, 2016. He was born in Zwolle, Louisiana to Frank Marvin and Lula Mae (Yawn) Martinez on March 15, 1940. Frankie was a 58-year resident of Grand Prairie, retired from Glitsch Tank Welding as a supervisor after 20 years of service, not one to sit idle and enjoyed working, he went back to work as a supervisor at LTV; where he retired after 20 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Marjorie Sue Martinez, son Franky Martinez, brothers Cecil, Billy Ray and Wayne Martinez and sister Edna Belle McKnight. Left to carry on his legacy is son Alan Martinez of Grand Prairie; daughter Wanda Harris of Irving; son Christopher Wann of Arlington; grandchildren Jennifer Rodriquez, Rachel Martinez, Josh Wann, Justin Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, Stephanie Martinez, Chelsea Martinez, Taylor Harris, Amanda Martinez, Nicholas Martinez and Journey Harris; 11 great grandchildren; brothers Daniel, Donald, and Carl Martinez and sister Elizabeth Ann Runge. Visitation will be Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6:00 through 8:00 pm, at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Friday September 30, 2016 at the funeral home, with an interment immediately following at Grand Prairie Memorial Park.
