Obituary for Georgia Ruth Cook (Rutledge)

Georgia Ruth Rutledge Cook of Irving passed away October 12, 2016. She was born on March 24, 1915 in Bogalusa, Mississippi to George and Vannie (McTaggart) Rutledge. Georgia will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, cooking and caring for others. She was passionate about the Bible. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Marshall “Pie” Cook, Sr.; sons Marshall, Jr. and George William Cook; 2 sisters; 2 brothers and great-great granddaughter Sadie Lishman. Georgia leaves behind to cherish her memory, grandsons Billy Cook and wife Cherie of Keller; Bobby Cook and wife Lynn of Watauga; Ronald George Cook and Jodi of Irving; and Bryan Cook and wife Kelly of Bloomburg, Texas; granddaughter Sherry Cook Alexander; 6 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren, Barbara Cook, wife of Marshall Cook, Jr.; Jan Cook, wife of George William Cook and numerous extended family members. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, October 17, 2016 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Brown’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joshua Price officiating. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dallas.
