Obituary for Harvey Ray Sanders

Harvey Ray  Sanders
Harvey Ray Sanders passed away at his home in Irving, Texas on November 19, 2016 at the age of 86. He was born on January 28, 1930 in Thorndale, Texas to Felix Ervin and Harvie Victoria Sanders. He is survived by his loving wife, Edith, of 61 years. They were married in Dallas, Texas on November 19, 1955. Also surviving are two sons, Brian and wife Michelle; Mason and wife Jamie; and two grandsons, Jacob and Zachary. Harvey attended Killeen High School and graduated in 1948. Harvey was raised in Belton/Killeen, Texas and later resided in Dallas, Waco and then Irving. He attended Draughans Business College and SMU. Harvey served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. He was employed at GMAC as an Accounting Manager for 42 years, retiring in 1991. Harvey was a devoted Christian and served as an Elder for 24 years at South MacArthur Church of Christ in Irving. Harvey enjoyed volunteering at his church, photography, genealogy, collecting coins and spending time with his family. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Christ Church located at 1750 East Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75061. A Graveside with Military Honors will precede the Memorial Service at Nelta Cemetery near Sulphur Bluff in Hopkins County, Texas on Tuesday.
