James “Jimmy” Minor of Irving passed away January 7, 2017. He was born on September 13, 1925 in Enid, Oklahoma to Bruce B. Minor and Mary Ella “Benefield” Minor. Jimmy worked as an Engineer for Vought after serving his country in the US Air Force in the 3701st Army Air Force Unit. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Monica Minor; brother Bruce Minor, Jr. and sister Evelyn Curry. Left behind to cherish his memory are daughters Susan Minor of Hyattsville, Maryland; Vicki Allen and husband John Randall of Los Altos, California; sister Marilyn Minor-Ost and husband Richard of Wichita Falls, Texas; granddaughter Jennifer Allen; niece Dawn Martens; nephews Don and Ken Curry and great-nephew Jet Murer. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. A committal service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 13, 2017 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA at www.spca.org.
