Greg Matlock, age 54, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born in Houston, Texas to James Harrison and Eileen (Bales) Matlock on March 27, 1962. Greg graduated from Mt. Enterprise High School in 1980, moved to Irving from Houston in 1985 and on November 20 in 1987 he married the love of his life Martha. In 1992 with Martha by his side, he opened his own air conditioning business here in Irving. Greg was a member of the Irving Elks Lodge and attended of Western Heritage Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Keith Dale Matlock. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 29 years Martha Matlock of Irving; son Chris Matlock of Grand Prairie; daughter Laura Ross and husband Brad of Mt. Enterprise; daughter Jessica Blas and husband Chris of Euless; son Chris Moore of Hurst; brother Ronnie Matlock and wife Trina of Baytown; brother John Ferguson and wife Nita of Texarkana; grandchildren Bailey, Kylie, Dylan, Chloe, Jaeley, Braden, Peyton, Hayleigh, Kendal, Makenna and Mason along with numerous nieces, nephews extended family members and friends. Greg was a loving husband, father, papa, brother and friend to all that knew him and will remain in their hearts and minds forever. A funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Oak View Baptist in Irving with internment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following. Visitation will be held between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home.
