Bobby Edd King, 82 and a 48-year resident of Irving, Texas, went home to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday morning, March 4, 2017. Bobby was born in Hagensport, Franklin County, Texas November 19, 1934. He graduated from Talco High School in 1953. After helping his dad bring in a bumper crop in 1953, the family packed up and moved to Midland, Texas where Bobby finished training as an electronics technician and worked in the growing field of television repair. He met the former Lois Trocke and they married April 7, 1959. Employment brought Bobby and Lois to Dallas, Texas and they settled in Irving in 1968 to begin a family. Bobby worked for Mineral Logging Systems and later Gearhart-Owen as a field engineer which allowed him to travel the globe. He was never gone from Texas long and enjoyed returning home to tell his family of his travels. After the down turn of the oil and drilling industry in the mid-1980s, Bobby found employment with the Defense Logistics Agency as a Quality Assurance Inspector. He retired from the DLA in 1999. Bobby loved spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, camping, picture puzzles, and tinkering with anything mechanical. He joined Beltline Church of Christ in recent years, volunteering his time to their ministries. Bobby was a proud grandfather to 2 granddaughters, Kaylee King and Brittany Chapman, 3 grandsons Brandon King, Joshua Reaves, Jacob Reaves and one great-grandson Jeremiah Chapman. Bobby is survived by his sister Yvonne Brooks and husband Don of Midland, Texas; brother Thomas King and wife Suzie of Andrews, Texas; brother Dwayne King and wife Joanna of Rogers, Texas; son Kevin King and wife Becky of Kissimmee, Florida; daughter Kristina Reaves and husband Tony of Irving, Texas along with 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Lena King and his beloved wife of 53 years, Lois Trocke King. Visitation will be at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving, Texas on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral Service at Brown’s on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Elder Jerry McKey of Beltline Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services conducted at Red Star Community Cemetery near Leedey, Oklahoma by Shaw Funeral Home on Saturday, March 11th at 2:00 pm.
