Helen Marie “Thoni” Nussbaumer, age 86, went to be with her Lord peacefully at her home in Irving on March 22, 2017. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 3, 1930 and graduated from Central High School. Helen was married to Andre Nussbaumer on July 21, 1951, celebrating 65 years of marriage together last summer. The couple lived in Switzerland for several years, before eventually returning to U.S. and settling in Dallas, Texas area. In 1963 the family settled in Irving, Texas. Helen worked for the Drawing Board Inc. for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church and the Swiss Club of Dallas, both since 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Louis Thoni; beloved husband Andre Nussbaumer and sisters Mary Page and Caroline Hagewood. She is survived by daughter Martine Simpson and husband Mike of Bridgeport, Texas; son Dr. Samuel Nussbaumer and wife Patty of Plano, Texas; son Christian Nussbaumer and wife Candy of Irving, Texas; sister Ruby Cloud of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren Michelle & Andrew Tuegel, Mackenzie & Alex Wallace, Maryssa Simpson, Jeff Nussbaumer, Allison Nussbaumer, Chelsea Nussbaumer, Caitlin Nussbaumer and fiancée Brett Davis and Claire Nussbaumer as well as many beloved family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at St. Paul’s Reformed Church 6464 East Lovers Lane, Dallas, Texas 75214.
