Obituary for Carolyn Sue Richey (Knight)

Carolyn Sue Richey (Knight)
Today we celebrate the life of Carolyn Richey, age 72, who died June 8, 2017. Carolyn was born on October 5, 1944 in Le Flore, Oklahoma to Thomas Lee and Velma Knight. GC Richey and Carolyn married on January 7, 1966 in Irving and celebrated fifty years of marriage last year. They raised two wonderful sons while they made their home in Irving, Texas.
Carolyn worked as an Executive secretary and enjoyed family, friends and volunteering. After her retirement, she became a school crossing guard and continued her volunteer work in her community. Carolyn was active in her faith and a member of the Western Heritage Church. She loved to laugh and helped everyone she could and never sought recognition for her contributions.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Lee Knight and Velma Christine Kitchens Knight, one brother Charles Lonnie Knight and one sister Vera Mae Knight Sharp. She is survived by her beloved husband GC Richey, son Glen Richey of Fort Worth, and son Scott Richey and his wife Connie of Tyler, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Carolyn is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, and countless other family. Carolyn was a bright light to her family and will be greatly missed.
