John W. Echols passed away August 18, 2017. John was born on November 9, 1947 in De Queen, Arkansas to Billy Echols and Elcie (Mears) Echols. John was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam era. After his military service, John worked as an Electronic Engineer and enjoyed deer hunting in his spare time. John will be remembered and cherished as a loving father, husband, friend and mentor to many. As a fair and rational soul, John was a rock in the most difficult situations. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Anastasia Echols of Irving, his sons David and John Echols of Irving, brothers Homer Echols and Dallas Ray of Irving and his sister Linda Stewart and husband Floyd of Irving. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
