Martin C. Johnsen, age 67, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Jerrold A. and Mary (Ramsey) Johnsen on June 16, 1950. Martin worked as an education consultant, teaching the French language in several schools’ districts. He loved the outdoors, he was an avid hiker, backpacker and fisherman. In the 1980’s Martin competed in the Olympic Games fencing division, and later became a judge for them. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew J.W. Peace. Left to cherish his memory is sister Karen Peace and husband James of Austin; sister Susan Desio and husband Albert of Irving; niece Mary Frances Whiteaker of Cedar Park along with 4 step siblings. Martin was a loving brother, uncle and friend to many, he will be deeply missed.
