Robert Louis “Bob” Morris, age 97, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017. He was born on March 11, 1920 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. His family moved to Irving, Texas when he was 6 weeks of age. Bob, attended Irving schools, graduating from Irving High School in 1937. In 1941 he married the love of his life. Rose Laverne Gandy of Irving. Bob served in WWII with General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. He received 2 Bronze Star Medals and the combat infantrymen badge. Bob retired from the national Headquarters of the Boy Scout of America in Irving. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 67 years, Rose Laverne, 2 sisters, 1 daughter Patsy Ann Berryhill, and 1 granddaughter Jennifer McFadden. Survivors are 2 daughters Betty Kay Taylor and husband Steven of Holt, Mo. and Teri Brooks and husband Richard of Tyler, TX.; 1 son Robert L. Morris and wife Stella of Desoto, TX.; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist church Irving 10:00 o’clock am, Friday October 6, 2017. The body will be laid to rest beside his lovely wife in Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Worth, TX. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, those that wish to remember Bob may make gifts to the Irving Animal Shelter 4140 Valley View Lane, Irving, TX 75038
