Eddie Ray McLawhorn, age 75, died on Saturday, May 5, 2018. Eddie was born on May 4, 1943 in Lenoir County, North Carolina to Hubert Ray Mclawhorn and Martha Elizabeth (Rouse) McLawhorn. Eddie served two tours in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Advanced Water Jet Cutting for 29 years. Eddie had a love for sports, which was evident in the way he played fantasy football, loved watching college basketball especially the North Carolina Tar Heels, and was a committed fan of the Washington Redskins. He had an eclectic taste in music, he loved classical, folk, country, and rock. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30+ years Kimberly McLawhorn; brother Kim McLawhorn of California; sister Barbara Jane Cameron of North Carolina; children Christophe McLawhorn and Sean McLawhorn both of Irving; grandchild Chase McLawhorn of Grand Prairie; nieces Jennifer Garza and husband Tim Salmon of Kaufman County, Kinley Salmon, Jacob and Joycelyn Garnica also of Kaufman County; sister in law Cindy Garza and spouse Robert of Forney; as well as many other extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061 with an interment immediately following at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
