Richard was a hard worker and good provider for his family, often working nights for 20 years to make sure they always had what was needed. He loved riding Harleys, and spent time taking apart cars and motorcycles, he just couldn’t always get things put back together. Richard also enjoyed fishing and sport shooting. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and brother Dan Kirkland. Left to cherish his memories are children Rick Kirkland Jr. and wife Erin, Shawn Kirkland and wife Shirley; grandchildren Jake Kitchens, Cole Kirkland, Ashton Kirkland, Tessa Kirkland; Ex-wife and friend Susan Vardiman; as well as many other extended family and friends.
