Obituary for Janice E. Miller (Allen)

Janice E. Miller, age 75, died on Sunday, September 2, 2018. Janice was born in Dallas, Texas on July 21, 1943 to Haney Jack Allen and Norma Pansy (Carter) Allen. Janice spent a lifetime serving her family, making their house a home. She was hands down the greatest cook. She was a best friend to her husband Don for 43 years, a wonderful mom to her kids, and a great mammaw to her grandkids. Janice spent most of her time surrounded by her kids and grandkids. She was always willing to listen and offer advice. Janice loved to play slot machines on riverboat casinos with Don and double down casinos on her kindle. One of the most meaningful moments in Janice’s life, took place on July 29, 2018 when she was baptized by Pastor Scott Farris. Janice is preceded in death by her parents; spouse of 43 years Don Miller; brothers Jack Allen, Dave Allen, and Gene Allen; sister Patsy Lindley; and dog Peaches. Left to cherish her memory are Frank Mason and wife Priscilla, Darrell Miller, Karen Blanton and husband Monte, Mike Miller and wife Beverly, Teresa Mason, Robert Miller and wife Lee; sixteen grandchildren; and forty great-grandchildren; niece Jackie Cramer; as well as many other loving friends and family. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 10, 2018 in the Chapel of the funeral home with an interment immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX 75060. The family welcomes flowers, but if you would like instead of plants, the family suggests a memorial donation be made to a Fort Worth No Kill Shelter.
