Doris L. Smiley-Grayson, age 95 died on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Doris was born on July 20, 1923 in Childress, Texas to Roy Lee Smiley and Florence (Hargrove) Smiley. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved to cook and be with her family. Doris enjoyed teaching art, gardening, and reading her bible. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, son Freddie Grayson, sister Dorothy Love, and brothers Sonny Smiley and Cletus Smiley. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Tommy Smiley; sons Morris “Butch” Grayson and wife Earnie and Jerry Grayson; daughters Teresa Grayson-Williams and Debbie Grayson-Edwards and husband Ron; grandchildren James Grayson, Kathy Grayson-Jayroe, Penny Grayson-Hawkins, Andrea Grayson, Stefanie Edwards-McCarthy, Shawn Grayson, Shane Fowler; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as numerous other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX.
