Joe W. Frye, age 88, died Saturday, December 10, 2016. He was born in Dallas, Texas to Frances “Fannie” (Knight) and Bunyan “Dutch” Frye on November 20, 1928. Joe was a graduate from Sunset High School in Dallas, then continued his education at SMU, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He worked as a master scheduler for LTV until his retirement in December of 1991. Joe was a 60-year Blue Lodge Mason #1218, then attained his 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of First Baptist Church Irving, where he was a Deacon for 51 years and volunteered with the CHAMPS afterschool program. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Patricia Anne Bolger. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Wilma Frye; daughter Janet Chism and husband John; daughter Carolyn Tarver and husband Dale; daughter Linda Fancher and husband Jeff; daughter Gail Pace and husband Jim; grandson Justin Chism and wife Lana; grandson Jared Chism and wife Anita; grandsons Cody and Chad Tarver; granddaughters Cady Tarver, Lauren and Lindsey Fancher, Tori and Addison Pace; great-grandchildren Bailey, Zachary and Emma Grace Chism along with numerous extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at First Baptist Church Irving, with interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following. Visitation will be held at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
