Obituary for Garland Eugene Hedgecoke

Garland Eugene Hedgecoke, of Irving passed away Monday, November 10, 2014. He was born November 23, 1937 in Amarillo, Texas. He was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Irving, served in the Navy Reserves and was a Democrat. Garland worked for many years as a building contractor and carpenter. He is preceded in death by his parents Charley Lee Hedgecoke and Violet Ford Hedgecoke and sister Loyce Groomer. He is survived by his wife Ann Johnson Hedgecoke of Irving; daughter Bridget Grimes of Jacksonville, Florida; sons Brian Hedgecoke of Weatherford, Byron Hedgecoke of Irving, Benny Hedgecoke of Irving and Barry Hedgecoke of Murphy; five grandchildren Janese, Rebecca, Tyler, Anthony and Drew; and two sisters Lou Marbel of Amarillo and Charlene Rickard of Bakersfield, California. Visitation will begin Thursday, November 13, 2014 6 PM with a Rosary being said at 7 PM at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10 AM St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Irving. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
