Obituary for Wayne Hardy Tyrone

Wayne Hardy Tyrone was born September 13, 1930 in Dora, TX, Nolan County. He died on January 11, 2015. Wayne is preceded in death by his son, David, 2 grandbabies, 2 brothers, and his parents, Pete and Louise Tyrone. He is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Taressa Charlton and her husband Gary, six grandchildren, Judson, Sarah, Clayton Charlton, Matthew, Tabitha and Kattrice Tyrone, 4 great grandchildren, 2 nephews, 2 nieces and many, many wonderful friends. Wayne graduated from Divide High School in 1948. After attending college in San Marcos Wayne joined the U.S. Navy in 1950. In 1951 he married Jean Moore. When he was discharged from the Navy in 1954 he attended Texas Tech where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1957. His first teaching and coaching position was in Sweetwater, TX. In 1961 he accepted a teaching and coaching position in Snyder, Texas. In 1971 Wayne earned his Master’s Degree in Education. Also that year he accepted a position at Irving High School in Irving, TX where he taught and coached football for 13 years. He retired in 1989. He and his family joined the First United Methodist Church in 1971 where he was a faithful servant of our Lord. Wayne was a devoted member of the Pathfinder’s Sunday School Class where he taught the class for many years. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Irving followed by a committal service with military honors at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
